Just what my BMW was missing!
I just finished installing this Ipod adapter on my 2003 BMW 325i. The installation could not have been easier. The hardest part was disconnecting the battery! The adaptor allows for full control of the volume from the steering wheel, just like it was installed at the dealer. I found easy install directions on the internet (however, the adapter comes with directions). My only reservation about buying this product is that is does not charge the ipod like other units such as the DICE product. I am so glad that I went this way instead of paying 150$ for the same thing. I already have an ipod car charger, so I am set! Why pay 100$ more to only have to deal with one cable (charge and play- DICE), I would much rather be able to put that money towards another future upgrade.Do not hesitate to buy this if you are wanting to be able to play your ipod/ any other electronic device with a headphone jack in your car!here is the link to the install that I chose[...]

Relatively easy install, works perfectly
I just installed this on my 2004 330ci with the BMW Business CD radio. Everything you need is included in the kit, though for the install you have to be comfortable drilling a hole in your car somewhere to mount the jack.The great thing is you can put your input jack anywhere you want in the car, it doesn't have to go in the glove-box recommended location. I wanted my input close to the cupholder where my iPod typically sits, so I put the input in the coin tray under the armrest. The location is hidden, and the jack itself looks very professional. Black out the edges of the jack and adapter plate with black paint or a sharpie and you won't even see the jack.Caution, you need to be comfortable messing around with your car, but if you aren't daunted, go for it! There are a bunch of tutorials on the internet with pictures where you can see how to install it, step by step.

BMW Genuine Auxiliary Audio Input for E46 3 Series
This is an awesome device! It works great and installed very easy. I would highly recommend it and you would save a lot of money if you install it yourself rather than going to the BMW dealer!
